About this role
Axra’s infrastructure moves real money. Downtime has a direct cost to our users — a family waiting on a transfer, a business trying to pay a supplier. We are looking for a DevOps and Infrastructure Engineer who treats reliability as a product, not a background task.
You will own our cloud infrastructure on AWS, manage our CI/CD pipelines, and build the platform foundations that let the rest of the team ship confidently and safely.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain our AWS infrastructure using Terraform — ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, SQS, and more
- Own our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) — improve build times, deployment safety, and rollback procedures
- Set up and maintain observability: logs, metrics, traces, and alerting across the stack
- Harden infrastructure security: IAM policies, VPC design, secrets management, patch cycles
- Work with engineering leads to define and enforce SLAs, error budgets, and on-call processes
- Build internal tooling and developer-experience improvements that make the team faster
What we're looking for
- 4+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering role
- Deep AWS experience — you know the difference between the right tool and the first tool you thought of
- Strong Terraform skills; you have managed real infrastructure at production scale
- Experience designing for high availability and disaster recovery in compliance-sensitive environments
- Security mindset — attack surface, least privilege, and audit trails are second nature
- Strong Linux/shell fundamentals; comfortable debugging at the network level
Nice to have
- Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) — we are evaluating a migration
- Familiarity with PCI-DSS or financial infrastructure requirements
- Prior fintech or payments experience
